Who we are

IceTime is operated by its owner as a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. Questions go to privacy@icetime.io.

What IceTime does

IceTime lets a team manager keep a roster, schedule games, and find out by text who is playing. Players answer on a web page from a link in the text. Spares are texted only when a team is short. Managers, assistants and players see the schedule and who is in or out.

Your account

• Your cell number is your account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to it. There are no passwords.
• Keep your phone secure. Anyone holding it can act as you on IceTime.
• IceTime is open to all ages. If you're under 13, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms for you.
• Texts go to Canadian mobile numbers. Other numbers can't be added.

Text messages

When a manager adds your number, or you join a team, you will receive texts about that team's games: asks, reminders, changes, and spare calls. These are service messages, not marketing. The first text you ever receive from IceTime says who added you and how to stop.

• Reply STOP to any message to stop every text from IceTime, from every team, immediately. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for help.
• To stop hearing from one team only, decline its invite, leave it from the bottom of its page, or use the removal link on a spare call.
• Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
• Delivery depends on carriers and networks we don't control. We can't guarantee that any text arrives, or arrives on time. Don't rely on IceTime alone for anything that can't afford a missed message.

If you manage a team

Adding a person's number to IceTime is your decision, and it comes with responsibilities.

• Add only people who are part of your team or its spare list, who know you, and who would expect to hear from you about hockey.
• By adding a number you confirm you have the person's permission to share it with us for this purpose.
• Keep names and numbers accurate. The person can correct their own name once they join.
• Don't use IceTime to send unwanted messages, to reach people who have asked you to stop, or for anything other than running your team.
• You are the team's owner. Only you can hand the team to someone else, and you can't leave without doing so.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use IceTime for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten or deceive anyone.
• Try to access accounts, teams or data that aren't yours, or probe, scrape or overload the service.
• Interfere with the service, its texts, or the links in them.
• Enter content you don't have the right to use, or that is offensive or misleading.

We may suspend or remove an account or a team that breaks these terms, and we may do so without notice where we think it's needed to protect other people or the service.

Your content

Names, team names, opponents, venues and answers you enter belong to you. You give us permission to store and use them to run IceTime for you and your team. We claim no other rights in them.

Availability and changes

IceTime is provided as it is, and as it is available. We may change, add or remove features, and we may pause or stop the service. We'll try to give reasonable notice of anything that matters to you. We don't promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent the law lets us exclude them.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including a game that goes short, a message that doesn't arrive, or a decision made on information in IceTime. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 CAD and the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the laws that apply to you, including consumer protection laws.

Ending things

• You can leave a team from the bottom of its page at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to privacy@icetime.io.
• A manager can close or delete a team. Closing keeps the history and stops the texts. Deleting removes it.
• We can end your access if you break these terms.
• Sections about your content, liability, and governing law survive the end of this agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be heard in the courts of British Columbia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to a different forum.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. For changes that matter, we'll tell you in the app or by text before they take effect. Using IceTime after that is agreement to the new terms.
